Finished after 13 years.

I’d made a rough sketch of these fishing boats while a friend and I waited for the ferry to take us to visit the Cinque Terre. I’ve always loved the 3 boats and their lovely flowing curves. I drew them up from my sketches and trip photos years ago, but not being confident with painting water I’d chickened out from going any further.

I’m not sure the water’s all that great but I do like the boats.

Only another few hundred lovely sketches and photos to go.

Time to explore other ways to create images.

I’ll soon be deeply engrossed in my next book and those illustrations, so time to explore.

Using a mixed media approach I am looking at collagraph prints I’ve done and using their random patterns and colour blends to create interesting images.
