I worried about rain in Hanmer.

But in the end it was the wind that blew all the visitors away. Around lunch-time a few gusts warned us of what was coming. Within the hour strong gusts swept in lifting loose items and gazebos and a light dust was thrown over everything.

I enjoyed meeting the shoppers though,

who were definitely in Christmas shopping mode. I heard them tossing family names around wondering what to buy amongst the hundreds of wonderful items being offered for sale. What would suit Aunt Jane, the twins, or Grandpa and fussy sister-in-law. Everyone was carrying a bag ready to fill. Sadly their day was cut short.

No worries Wanaka Fete  is coming.

Bring your lists and bags down to Wanaka on November 30th (www.wanakafete.co.nz) where the stalls will again be displaying their wonderful handcrafted gifts. The fete is being held on the Wanaka Show Grounds.
