Witch Hexit goes to the markets

I’m delighted to be selling my third fairy-tale picture book ‘The Spell-ing Witch’ at the markets this Christmas. The pre-Christmas season is my best selling time as parents and grandparents are often looking for a different present for their children. The classic tales of fairies, witches, dragons, princes are always popular. I’ll be starting in October and I hope to see some of you at the ones I have listed.

Markets in Nelson

Nelson Market, is a 40 year institution in Nelson and is on every Saturday of the year. Locals pick up their veggies, meet friends for brunch and enjoy the many crafts and produce offered for sale there.

Founders Christmas Market in Nelson on the 24 of November this year is a must visit for your Christmas shopping. There is an amazing array of very skilled craftspeople as well as tasty food and lots of coffee stops.

Richmond Market held in the Richmond Show Grounds every Sunday, enjoys lots of space for children and dogs to run around. Shady trees are welcome in the summer to meet, relax with friends and eat the delicious food. More amazing craftspeople display their creations here.

Motueka Market is also on a Sunday and offers locals and people visiting samples of the western end of Tasman Bay’s entrepreneurs. The market reflects the local craftspeople from that vibrant area.

Moutere Hills Christmas market is on 7th of December this year and caters for the very supportive community that surrounds it. You often encounter different craftspeople here which underlines the very creative people that live in the Nelson/Tasman area.

Markets elsewhere

Hanmer Fete is a new market for me this year on the 2nd of November but having heard great reports of the crowds – I’m going! Organised by two remarkably skilled young women, I can’t wait to get there. Book your accommodation quickly to enjoy choosing from lots of genuine hand crafted items. The organiser select only New Zealand made craft items that are as varied as possible.

Wanaka Fete, which I’ll attend on the 30th of November is an inaugural market organised by the same women as the Hanmer Fete. So I’m sure that it will be just as good. It is being held in Wanaka Showgrounds which are right in the heart of Wanaka.

There are many more markets in the region but I can’t go to them all!
