I always get such a startled look when I tell people I wrote AND illustrated…

Thirty-six drawings copied – 18 to go!
I’m going a bit googled-eyed copying and tracing my rough sketches onto good watercolour paper so I had a break today and did some ‘Zentangling’ – very restful and totally absorbing.
I used some shells as an inspiration collected from the local beach. They have wonderful shapes after being battered and crushed by the waves and then dumped along the high tide mark together with wonderfully sculptural pieces of drift wood.
My dog loves the high tide area as this is a favourite picnic area for families with small children who eat and drop their picnic morsels for her to find.
I will have to stick with the programme though, as I have a limited time-frame to get all my paintings done so they can be printed by local printers ‘Copy Press’ in Tahunanui, Nelson in time for the Christmas markets.
