Using my collagraphy prints
Inspired by the texture
The collagraphy Printmakers (https://www.printcouncil.nz/) workshop I did resulted in over 15 inspiring prints. Some of them had wonderful craggy textures that I thought reflected the ruggedness of the Easter Island statues. So I cut out these shapes and arranged them on watercolour paper.
What to do next?
Would more collagraphy inspired prints shaped and pasted as the rugged landscape enhance or detract from the stunning textural effects of the statues? I’m not sure.
I’ll probably try both
I enjoy the drama of flowing watercolours too much not to try and combine them with the wonderful results of collagraphy prints. So maybe a combined approach would work.
