painted plant pot

holiday fun

arty opportunity in Buderim.

On a visit to friends in Buderim, Sunshine Coast, Australia I walked into my kind of shop! ‘Chapter Two Interiors” (https://chaptertwointeriors.com). Madly eclectic and fascinating.

It was full of re-painted / recycled wooden furniture, re-painted / recycled wooden chairs, old records, large stuffed animals, paintings, china, painted everything you could think of.

The owners, Hayley and Darren originally from the UK, also run classes in painting plant pots with ‘Annie Sloan‘ chalk paint (https://www.anniesloan.com). This paint  leaves a lovely mat finish and covers incredibly well. Hayley stocks a full range of colours.

booked a class straight way.

I didn’t fancy carrying a terracotta pot through customs so I offered to paint a pot for our hosts’ veranda. Returning with a large terracotta pot, a design – copied from a lovely red-rimmed and green leafed plant in their garden – I started choosing colours and brushes.

Hayley and Darren.

The two Brits and I chatted happily on and off for 5 hours as Hayley and I painted, enjoying cups of coffee and Hayley’s help, guidance and suggestions.

A blissful day.

Another hobby!!
