My next wood block carving printed - very happy with it. This was an image…
Markets finished for 2024
Only missed out on one market.
The best run of markets ever. Only one was rained off – unfortunately the very last Nelson market before Christmas. The Hanmer market had all the customers blown away after midday by a vicious wind. The Wanaka market was nearly a non-event as the books, the author, the dog and the camper-van driver were nearly blown over before we got there, due to the gales across the Canterbury plains.
The attractive, colourful display,
helped to draw people to my table and once there I chatted happily about the unconventional nature of my books. Not everyone bought a book but I met some lovely people and they often regretted their lack of grandchildren.
My boxed set of all 3 books sold well.
I was happily amazed at how often a customer, trying to decide which of the 3 to buy (there is a synopsis of the previous adventures in book 2 and 3), thought they might as well get the fancy boxed set. I totally endorsed this approach of course.
The production of boxes only just kept ahead of demand as they are fiddly to make and required a fair amount of precision to get the front and back cover to align with the box I have made.
