My next wood block carving printed - very happy with it. This was an image…
Nelson market day
and 14 books sold.
My first sale was one of my new presentation boxes containing all three books – so thrilled to find people like the idea.
This, my second Saturday dawned bright and sunny – no possibility of wind according to the weather gurus. On arrival I soon had my new display set up and was ready to SELL.
A steady stream of customers after that until …
… a fierce gust of wind
knocked my displayed books over; tossed my bags across the walkway; caused the unsecured gazebo to dance forward loosening some of my displayed cards so they ended up round my feet! My neighbour lost her jewellery display when the wind blew it off her table!
I quickly hung my water bottle weights in the gazebo corners
and began to attend to a few customers, sign some books for another customer and tidy up at the same time.
What a morning. Very stressful, as the gusty wind continued to plague the stall-holders but one of my best market days in the end.
Making some weights now for my display stands and collecting rocks to pin items down.
Customers intrigued by my having both written and illustrated the books
When my customers are interested I often share how I came to both write and illustrate the Prince and Dragon trilogy books. I love writing and fairy stories leave lots of room for my imagination. I’ve always love painting in watercolours and although the most challenging media; I love the unexpected results that can be used to enhance the painting.
